PostHeaderIcon Student Loans?

low interest student loans

I am looking into student loans to expedite and begin graduate school earlier. With personal cash, there would be much delay because I would have to save up.
I am not a big fan of the FAFSA way. Do you know of any other, low interest student loans/grants programs? Thank you!

PostHeaderIcon Am I able to get the interest rate on my student loan lowered?

student loan interest rate

I had a federal stafford (subsidized?) and a stafford (unsubsidized?) loan, I believe they were called. I didn’t have to pay anything until I finished college.
Now the 2 loans are combined into 1 Wells Fargo loan, and the current interest rate is about 8%.
Since interest rates have fallen quite a bit since I started repaying the loan ~4 years ago, am I able to get my rate lowered?

PostHeaderIcon What are some good Student Loan Consolidation Companies?

student loan consolidation rates

These crooks known as Sallie Mae have screwed me. Two years ago I started receiving my student loans, and the interest rate at the time was only 2%. I even have a sheet of paper stating that.

My total in loans was $42,000.

I get my statement in the mail last week and suddenly I owe them $57,000 and they jacked up my interest rate to nearly 18%. I nearly cried. I called Sallie Mae right away stating, I cannot pay $688.00 a month it is just ludicrous.

I only have a couple more weeks to find a cheap, but very respectable loan consolidation company. My sister uses Nelnet, but they haven’t gotten back to me yet.

For all of you college graduates what is a cheap, but VERY respectable and honest Student Loan Consolidation company?

You can email me with details if you’d like.

Thank You.

PostHeaderIcon When do i need a co-signer for private student loan consolidation?

student loan consolidation rates

I have around $30K in private student loans that I had my brother co-sign with me on. I am paying Prime + 0% which is really nice, but I wanted to consolidate and use the LIBOR rate(which is lower then prime, I would save over 2K in 10 yrs by dropping just 1% point). I have what I think is a very good credit score (~760) and wanted to get the best rate and try to avoid asking my brother to co-sign again. Is my score high enough to go in alone without and co-signer and get the best rate? Thanks in advance.

PostHeaderIcon Unsubsidized Student Loan Deferment?

student loan deferment

I’ve just started graduate school and I have the option of deferring my undergraduate student loans. I’m not sure I can afford the monthly payments, but I’d still like to periodically put some money down on the loan.

So my question is, can I make payments on the principal of the loan, and not just the interest, while it is in deferment?

PostHeaderIcon What is the variable student loan interest rate forecast for the foreseeable future during a depression?

student loan interest rate

What is the variable student loan interest rate forecast for the foreseeable future during a depression WITH high inflation?

Currently it is 1%-3%
Hyperinflation could set at the rate the government is printing money.

We are in a depression. It will not end in 2010. It may be the beginning of the end. Trillions in debt will not go away overnight.
